Is something missng from my engine?
I've driven this 95 E320 for just over 1000 miles, and I was looking at the engine with a flashlight last night, after a 30 minute drive, to see if I could see any leaking fluids or anything. Plus, I still consider myself completely ignorant about these cars, and tend to feel totally lost reading some of the great technical information available on this forum and others.
As I was looking down along the driver's side of the engine block, just to the rear of the dipstick, I see what looks like an empty bolt hole, as if something was there and is now missing. I tried to get a pic of it but I just can't get the camera in there far enough to have it show up. I can also see it by looking from the top of the engine down (rear of the dipstick). It also looks as though there maybe another empty hole just above and rear of the first one. The threads are plainly visible.
Am I crazy, paranoid or just have a lot more to learn?
