German Import 230TE
hey guys what u think of the 1988 230TE? theres one for sale a couple of hours away from me. it is a german import, 190 k with a 4 speed manual tranny. it looks pretty clean, what would you guys say is a fair price for it. They are asking for 4800

Are you in the U.S? I wouldn't buy a grey market car after the ***** i've been through. I've had a 230E and 190e 16v that i couldn't get smoged. The 230TE I imagine would waste a lot of gas for the weight and the 4cyl engine it has. It's like buying a 300SE w140.

That's where i got my grey market cars from. I would still look for something with a bit more power since the 2.3L engine on that car won't cut it. They also have problems with oil consumption.

$4800 Canadian? Do you have high octane fuel like they use in the UK? I wouldn't want to run that 2.3 on the stuff we have in the states. Might as well get out and push.

Yes 4800 Canadian, we have 91 Octane, 94 Octane. The only reason I wanted it is because of the manual transmission but since it's gutless I'll pass. There's a nice 300CE which is what i want, around here wiht 200 k onit and he wants 10 000
