bad flex disk or other???
Is it possible that I am putting too much strain on a semi-worn out flexdisk or could it be something different. bear in mind that in normal driving situations, the car works perfectly normal...no odd noises and no clinks, clunks or vibration.
Thanks in advance for any insights and/or suggestions.
Sounds like your Shifter Bushings has gone bad. Mine did the exact same thing but that's just my experience Shannon.
No, the car is tight in terms of shifting from first through forth during regular driving, and second through fourth when on the gas hard...no noises, no looseness, no vibration. That one particular shift under full load seems a bit "softer" or with a slight slip more-so than the others, but it's a bit understandable considering it is the most aggressive shift condition.
What it really sounds like is a belt slipping. You know, that quick chirp or squeak as a belt slips on a pully? Maybe I'll swap out or readjust the surpintine belt to see if the noise goes away. I have never had a car that didn't have mechanical U-joints, so I figured there was a possibility that I am stretching a flex disk (with which I am unfamiliar of the failure mode) and that is the cause for the noise and a slightly "soft" shift. Am I way off-base here?
