Speedometer Cable / Speedo Woes
Ok, so the 300e has been giving me speedo cable problems - ( needle jumping, then nothing after a ride on the highway ).
So I pulled a good condition Speedo cable off of a 190e w/ the 3 liter 6 cyl, as well as the speedometer gauge. Now the needle doesn't rest on '0 mph' ; and it's 10-15mph over.... what did I do wrong?
It would be good for a fake youtube video -- "Look, I'm doing 150MPH in a bone stock 300e!", lol ; but I am a bigger fan of things working the way they are supposed to.
The cable from the 190e (when compared visually) is exactly the same, but perhaps this isn't my problem since I took the gauge completely apart to play with the miles to get it to match my old speedo gauge. Any suggestions? I'm about to take the cluster out again today to figure out why the needle on the speedo gauge isn't resting on the plastic 'pin' for 0 mph.
Thanks,
Capt

Fixed!
Ok, problem fixed -- took apart the cluster (again), and just set the needle back a hair - I guess I didn't set it on the '0 mph' marker to begin with
Duurrrr-teee-durrr.... problem fixed, it's not lying to me telling me I'm doing 90mph all day anymore.
