Lost turn signals and clock and the sunroof works backwards after replacing the radio

I am ready to pull my hair out. My son and I replaced the Becker radio in our 1993 300E with a JVC KD-G230. After finishing we took the car out to enjoy the new sounds and found that the clock is not workin, the turn signals and hazard lights are not working either. The brake lights do work however. We also found that the sunroof switch quit working properly. Pushing the switch to open the vent closes the sunroof and all other positions cause it to open. I did pull the knob on the sunroof motor out and I can't figure out how to push it back in. Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

first thing to do is check your fuses. did you disconnect the battery while you were installing the unit?
for the sunroof, since you pulled the switch, maybe something inside got turned around when you put it back in?
also, i think it's very cool to do this kind of stuff with your son, you're a good dad!

i now drive a ford p71 i also own a 1988 ford f150 lariat
you are an awsome dad trying to show your son how to do things. my dad did the same with me and i went from there he has gotten to old and busy now to work on cars and save countless cash on the repair costs.

i think you might have crossed some wires or killed some fuses i know i did when i put the new battery in my car. the widows would not work that was a killer being it was summer and i smoke. also the car would die every time i stoped. but the fuses were all the problems i had try there 1st and good luck on the sun roof mood ruff what ever they call it now a days new fangeld stuff

Thanks Rio Z Lander

I found a wwiring diagram for the instrument panel and found that the turn signals, hazard lights and clock all seem to share a common ground. Hopefully I just knocked a wire loose or something.

I've got most of it fixed. the turn signals turned out to be a broken ground wire, and clock and 4 ways was a blown fuse. The sunroof still has me perplexed. I believe tit is related to the fact that I inadvertently pulled out the white knob on the motor assembly and can't figure out how to push it back in.

if the switch makes the motor do the opposite of what you want...i think you put it in backwards thats my best guess, im not really knowledgeable about the sunroof workings

Turns out the the white knob on the sunroof motor allows adjustment of the motor / roof timing. By pulling it out, I screwed up the relationship between the motor and the sunroof. It is an easy fix. Simply pop the sunroof to full vent position ( rear of the roof up) and put tyhe short end of a 7/64" allen wrench into the timing hole near the infamous white knob. Turn the knob one way or the other until the allen wrench goes fully into the hole the push firmly on the knob until it seats and you are done. The sunroof works perfectly now!

Thanks
