Talking Newbie checking in....

Just purchased a 1989 MB 300E and figured I better join a good MB forum as I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

Will look forward to meeting the online community, participating, and reading all the info. and tips already posted.

The car is in mint condition, a right purchase!
To all - why do Mercs in the States have these strange headlamps? They`re ugly as hell. We in Europe are blessed with decent and healthy headlamp sets :p

Smile It is called government regulation!

The Department of Transportation (DOT) did not approved the original headlights. Therefore, we have these terrible looking/performing lights...
Nice car! However, I think your antenna does not work. Does it? It may need a mast replacement. Cheap and easy to do.
Cheers!

It could just need a bit of oil. Most of the electric ariels I've owned on cars have stuck at one time or another. Get someone to turn the radio on and off, then keep spraying penitrating oil on the mast whilst gently helping it up and down.

Thanks for the tip. I'll certainly try it. It goes up, but doesn't retract completely.
