DRAG STRIP PIC
I was checking to see when the next Wednesday night "Test and Tune" was at the local strip web site...
When low and behold they have a picture of my car just beginning to launch prior to breaking loose and smoking the tires for the first 1/8......
Going to give it a try on June 18 to see if warm weather brings traction and a few high 13 second runs !!!

What turbo kit have you got, if you don't mind me asking?
And what is the budget and power output?
Personally I was hoping for 250bhp would suit me nice.

Hi, I ve been looking for turbo for my 103 2.6, I have heard of some could not find any (was not looking good enough obviously).

There still may be a few M103-12V kits which include exhaust at UK Merc dealer Hughes of Beaconsfield.
Contact is John Pearson, tel# 01494 672141 ( from USA 011-44-1494-672141)
Output numbers are relative to your dyno baseline.
Using a Mustang load dyno you'll see about 30% drive train loss from the published figures.
Expect about a 60% increase in HP and Torque, more so in torque.
Cost of kit in late 2006, early 2007 was 1000 pounds sterling ex works...figure around $3000.00 delivered to your door in the USA.
Kit is supposedly a bolt on, but it has its mismatch parts problem.
Professional install to do it correct will take about 100 man hours.
Out of all the kits sold that came to the USA and Australia in 2007, I think mine is the only one that is running with zero problems.
My install was done by a shop that is about the only one in the USA with expertise on TT installs on M103 and M104's
Another forum member who is having a wide body coupe conversion done in Detroit, will be using the same installer for the TT in Chicago.

Wow, so given a shop rate of around $100 to allot for random needed parts and install, plus the $3000 for the kit, you are in to it for $13,000??
Not worth it on a 300E sedan IMO...for that cake you could get into a 500E which will have the same power and ALL the much nicer body components and options.
On a minty fresh CE like eds though.....Che Bella!!!!

On a sedan, I would also have gone the 500E/E500 route...
In fact I'm looking at a very low mileage one now....
I'm fickled, am considering a newer SL550, but the older Mercs have so much of a different feel.
If I wasn't the original owner of my coupe and having full knowledge of the service history, I probably wouldn't have considered it....
If I amortize the cost over the years of ownership and look at what $13K can buy, it was a practical decision to update the power.
I'm twenty years into my car already....runs like a period AMG NA V8 and not sure when I'll get it painted....
Having too much fun driving it !!!!
