Wheels fitment....Brabus Monoblock.

Hey guys just wondering if Size: 8.5"x18" Front, 10.5"x18" Rear and Offset 35 Front, & 22 Rear.
3" rear lip.

Will it fit without any mods or do I need to fender roll or anything?

A 9 inch wheel wont fit, either will a 10, those wheels are for a SL. The 8.5 wont work without major modificatios either. I posted a pdf document that shows what is needed to fit a 8.5" wheel in another thread.

Look at this picture, it shows a 18x9 et31 offset, it sticks way out past the fender lip, no amount of tweaking, modifing etc is going to make it fit a regular w124 chassis.

I don't know who Andre is, but if your referring to the guy with the recently bought a500e, well then thats completely different, as the suspension is SL based and both front/rear fenders have been flared. I could easily fit a 9.5 in the front on my 500e and a 10" on the rear, assuming my offset was around +17 to a +25.

The standard W124 chassis does not have the agressively flared fenders like a 500e. Your in a for a big surprise (actually it shouldn't be a surprise, as I warned you) if you ordered those 9" diamater wheels.

A monkey could give you better advice than most of the people who work at Discount Tire (IMO), I am surpised they didn't look up the fitament in their system, you would of been told the largest diamater you could fit is a 8" with a +28mm offset (18" wheel) or +35mm (17") wheel.

You can get the same information from The Tirerack online.

The picture I posed is a 300e which we tried to fit a 18x9, it wasn't drivable and the car isnt even lowered.

So disappointed... The 10.5's would nice. But I think I can fit 9's at the back... Does anyone know what's the biggest wheel fitted on the W124.

Andre has a 500e, Albert a 300e, two completely different cars when it comes to wheel fitments and offsets. What easily fits a 500e, won't necessarily fit a 300e. Just because I can fit a 18x9.5 and a 18x10 on my 500e easily, does not mean those same wheels will fit a 300e. The 500e front/rear fenders and inner fender walls were modified at Porsche to accommodate larger diameter wheels/tires. The suspension geometry is also different, coming from the SL and not the standard 300e.

If you talk to your typical Discount Tire (insert whomever if you like) person, who may or may not have ever installed wheels/tires on a W124 chassis, their first assumption would be to dig into the recesses of their mind and pull up ANY Mercedes they have installed wheels/tires on. Whether that be a w202, w208, w210, w211 etc. If at any point in time, they installed 18x8 and 18x9 wheels on say a 2000 E320, then its very possible that they ASSUME the same wheels/offsets may fit a early 90's 300e, again making the assumption that all E classes are similar. I can't tell you how many times I have run into this.

As for 190e's, well you're not going to fit a 18x8 and 18x9 on that car unless its the 16 valve or has had its fendered flared. FWIW, a 17x7.5 et 35 will have problems with rubbing, this I know for a fact, I had to install 16 valve flares and do extensive lip cutting to eliminate my rubbing issues.

Stretching a lower profile tire on a wide rim is not really the solution, your tires should be matched to the OE tires for height, this maintains the accuracy of your speedometer. Of course you can have it re-calibrated to correct for the smaller tire size.

Did anyone look at the picture I posted that clearly shows a 18x9" wheel on the back of a 300e????? What additional proof are you seeking to determine if it will work or not???? Did I mention that the vehicle was not drivable, without severe rubbing issues?

I guess you could stretch a super small tire on the rim, lower your car by cutting off about 3 coils, insure the camber is about -4 degrees (maybe more) roll the fender lips, trim the bumper lip and you might be able to do it. This seems to be the solution that is being presenented by some, but I guess if you don't mind the poor ride quality or burning through tires every 3-5000 miles, then more power to you.

Yeah I would love to see them too. I just want my car to look aggressive. I think I could fit 9 or even 9.5. Without rubbing. I have But I think i'll look for a 9. The 10's would look nice though. I love those rims too. Monoblock. 1700 isn't too bad for the price either. I'll call my friend up later who modifies cars. He's installed VIP style cars before. With crazy offsets that seemed to be impossible to istall.

When I get my new wheels, I'm getting 18x8 up front and 18x9 in the back. I have a 94 e320 and test fitted the back a while ago and was fine. No rubbing as of the few days on the car, but I'm definitely getting the fenders rolled asap!
