Hey guys. Here's what I got yesterday. Took me 1 hour install. This one is $145 with shipping. It is pre-wired.

Hey, I live close to you. If I was going to keep my car i'd ask you to help me. What features does this come with? Only the lock/unlock?

The system comes with 2 keys. You have 3 option when buy this system. 1st, one isn't pre-wired and it requires more modification,it also light up your signal lights, but, its $99. 2nd ,is pre-wired and it requires mnimum mod, it lights up the signal light, this is what I have (its $139). 3rd, is the same the only giff on this one is it beeps (it's $169). All of them unlocks the trunk also. The components is installed at the trunk.

Hey Fred let me know if you need help. I'm actually thinking of things to upgrade right now. When I paint this car black. I'm going to make my own side mirrors out of carbon fiver. And maybe make my own bodykit. Not Sure with the bodykit yet.

I know this is time consuming but hey its my car. And I want to look exactly how I it.

I might not be keeping this car but a remote system isn't that expensive and would be willing to do it. How hard is it to do all that?

It took me about 40 minutes give or take. It wasn't that hard, as long as you don't have junk in your trunk. You only work in the trunk that's it.

Not knowledge per say. I'd say a general understanding about automobiles.

Or just plugging things in...

No. 85% i'd say is plug N play with minor wiring. If an average joe like me could install it, then you should be able to.

At home depo. But, FYI when you use this remote keyless, your bypassing your securing trunk too. What I mean about is like using your master key. Your trunk will always be accessible. You don't need to use your VIP parking key anymore. So you can't use your trunk as a secure storage anymore. Reason being is that the whole wiring for the back that connects to the trunk actuator is disconnected and connected to the Keyless system.

No, the trunk will lock, but your valet will also always have access to it.

Currently if you lock it from the trunk and turn the lock sideways, the valet key will not unlock your trunk. I don't know how far back this functionality existed...

It cost me around $140 to have my door lock serviced when it stopped working ($20 parts.. 1 hr labor). I'm tempted to get one of these just to save wear and tear on my locks.

You can get it from the same company. They will give you a choice if you want the smart key style or the square type.

It will not -open- anything. It will just unlock everything.

You would need to install either a solenoid or pneumatic cylinder to actually unlock and propel the hatch open or at least that seems like it would be the most straightforward route to go for a remotely opening trunk.
