Brake sensor question

I recently replaced my front disks and brake pads. I failed to replace the brake sensor and when I called the dealer to get them for both front and back brakes I was told that my car requires 2 sensors on each disk. 2 for the front left, 2 for the front right front and so on. Is this true? I drive a 91 300CE any advise would be helpful. I do not want to have to buy extra parts that I do not need. The price is about $5 a piece. Thank for your time in advance.
