I know it sounds cheap..ovp rebuild anyone?

I know it sounds cheap..ovp rebuild anyone?

I was wondering if any one out there has cracked open a bad OVP and fixed the coroded points or solders. What can I say I like tinkering and since mine is original and causing surging. I want to fix and or replace but thought it would cool if I could fix it myself? Just wondering.

Yep, been there done that! The soldered leads off of the transformer in mine seemed to be melting away so I tipped them off with some more solder and re soldered most of the other connections adding solder here and there. I ended up having to replace it a year later but it survived the Pennsylvania winter while I was at school
