92 tachs at 3k at 70mph Normal??

1992 300E
Question 92 tachs at 3k at 70mph Normal??

My 92 300E tachs right below 3k at 70 MPH. Is this common? I am a new owner to this car and none of my domestic cars tach this high at this speed.

That would probably be about right. Assuming you have a 4 gear auto transmission, that is correct. Manual 300es have 5 gears.
