Rear Window Brake Light, bulb replacement

Hey, I need to replace the bulb in the third brake light located at the bottom of the rear window.

Anybody know how to go about doing this? I tried getting at the bulb yesterday but it didn't work out, I'm afraid I'm going to break the unit in half.

yea, when i did it i accidentaly broke the tabs that lock it in place, over the years i gues the sun makes it very hard and brittle.

just try your best when messing with the tabs (left and right side) not to brake it, if you do like i did, i just got some adhesive (or some kind of silicone glue that can handle the sunlight, and that can be easily pulled off for future replacement) and stick it back on.
