Power seat diode

I had an interesting problem with my 86 300e that I thought I would share with other 124 owners. First, fuse 2 and 9 were open. Replaced them. Then when I opened the door the radio turned on and the windows would operate.
The cause, V1, the power seat diode was shorted. Causing the power seat circuit to energize the accessory circuits when the door was open, from fuse 9 to fuse 2. When the diode is open, the seats will only operate when the door is open, not when closed and the key is on. The diode, V1, is located in the back of the fuse box. The diode is a 1n4003, and costs under $1.00.
