It's actually the 5.0 litre engine bored, stroked and balanced with new camshafts. I don't know all the deatils, but the car is fast! I haven't had it dyno'd, but RENNtech claims their advertisement of 402 hp and 410 tq is very conservative.
As far as the cosmetics, all was done before I bought it, but was told the lights are "European". I don't have a digital camera (the pic I posted was taken by the dealer when I bought it), but I will try to post some more pics soon. The engine doesn't appear to be that much different "looking" than stock.

Must be a great ride. How fast have you driven it? Can you say what the engine mods cost? It's odd the headlights look US spec but I don't see the hole below them for the wipers. The car looks to be repainted at least at the bumper pads and rear view mirror. Why didn't Renntech add body mods?

The car was sent to RENNtech when it was brand new. The engine modification was $32,750 at the time it was done. The suspension and cosmetic mods were done at a later time by someone else. The car is idle at this time due to a blown head gasket that AMG is dragging their feet on shipping, but the fastest I've had it is around 120mph. If you start off in 1st it will just smoke the tires and from 50-110mph it pulls like you wouldn't believe. There is one (a '94) for sale on the internet right now and the guy claims 0-60 in 5 sec. Here's the link if you want to see it.

Is "E60" a Renntech label? Shouldn't it be labeled E600? Why start with a 400E if you can get a 500E with all the Porsche improvements? Nit picky questions but a very nice car in either case. I'm sure Renntech was very thorough for $37k in mods.

I wish I knew all the details. Getting info on something that was done 10 years ago is difficult. Anyway, I love the car. It has everything I was looking for; great ride and fast enough to surprise 99% of the cars on the road. I also own a Mustang Cobra and the Merc is just as fast if not faster, and rides like the luxury car it is. Plus I don't have every teenager in a Camaro or Rice rocket revving me at every light.

How else can you give four people the ride of their lives? It must be one of the fastest Benz's on the road that can embarrass many other cars. Have fun!

You got that right! I'm thinking of taking it to a "drag day" event my Cobra club is having just to see what it will do in the 1/4 mi., but I'm still not sure if I want to. I'll need to get 2 cheap rims to put some older tires on that I have laying around. I don't want to tear up the tires I have right now.

1992 300CE AMG Hammer Replica, 2004 C240, 2015 ML350
The headlights on the 92 400E 6.0 Renntach are U.S. spec headlights. European headlights are solid glass across the front.
The Wipers were an option and were not standard equipment on all w124 chassis cars, and the panels without the wiper holes can be purchased for all of $20.
The indicators are clear indicators vs the orange oem US units.
The wheels are E420 Sport wheels off a 1997 model E-class, or at least they are that style. They are not AMG monoblock Wheels or AMG monoblock style. You can tell because the AMG wheels havea flat face, and the face of these wheels dips in in the center around the lug holes.
ITs a beautiful car. I would suggest upgrading to the European 500E Headlights. Not only will they make the car look much better, but they will make it look newer, and you get the advantages of superior lighting over the standard U.S. Headlights.
I would also color match the bumpers and side trims to the car, which will update the look even further.
Be sure to post dyno and 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times for us.

Ashman,
Im thinking of getting the front panels without the wiper holes.
Did you get yours from a dealer? If not, where can I pick them up cheaper?
Thanks

I got new panels without the wiper holes for about $12 each from the dealer. You will need to install the weather strip and paint them to match the body color. It's the last detail to a clean looking front end with Euro lights.
