Smile "Bosal" rear silencer exhaust review.

After some 170000kms, my original stock "Gillet" rear exhaust started to get a small rattle from the baffles coming loose in the silencer,so i set about looking for a good aftermarket stock replacement.
From most research,it appeared both the "Bosal" & "Eberspacher" were the best recommended replacement choices.
Looking at their physical differences, the Eberspacher's silencer appeared to look virtually identical in size and shape to my original,where-as the Bosal's was slightly smaller and rounder.Everything else about the two were the same as the original, with those nice, understated, yet powerful twin pipes, that never shout "look at me",rather just playing a subtle role of complementing the powerful and beautiful design of the gorgeous W124 rear end.
Both are aluminium construction, but pricewise, the Eberspacher was nearly twice the price of the Bosal.
I ended up going with the Bosal, mainly because it was available immediately, and i had a good feeling about the smaller more compact design of the silencer.
Upon first sight of seeing it fitted, i was delighted by it's beautiful tight fit, with both pipes slightly protuding, yet nice and tight inside the lower bumper cutout.
Soundwise,I like the car to remain quiet & stealthy overall, but any sound that is generated, must be of deep solid quality, and i was not disappointed.
The sound?....Definately deeper, with a delicious subtle burble that was'nt apparent before. It's ever so slightly more audible,(still nice and stealthy, but quality solid in sound)only complementing, yet quietly adding and enhancing to the overall creamy smooth mechanical symphony of the engine.
I hav'nt posted in a while, but my W124 Benz is traveling superbly as ever. A truely amasing car in design and engineering. Simply timeless!
