Question Car will not start

1995 E-320 with ASR. On the road engine stopped after running rough for a second or two. Will not restart, cranks rough shaking. Possible firing on a cyl or two off and on. Swaped out the fuel pump relay (I two E-320's) same result. Any good ideas where to start?

Horace

ps I am building a code reader.

Maybe the crank position sensor, but read the codes.

I had the same problem, it went away after chagned the distributor cap, seems like your car is not getting the electric. Try

will not start

Built code reader found the following: (I do have the list but some of thesemay be old) Pin 8 24 and 30 (this seems to be the problem)
Pin 14: 2, 6, 11, 14. My other 95 showed # 11 also, only code on it.

car will not start

Swaped fuel pump relay with other car still will not start. How about the overload relay? I did not see an error code on it.

I don't think a relay is going to cause sudden death on the highway. Look for big things like the fuel pump or no power to the ECM. Is the FP running during cranking?

Angry Car will not start part 2

OK I have checked the relay, the OVP relay,(swaped the relays with good ones in my other 95 E 320) the fuel pumps sound as if they are working. No new error codes.
Car is 1995 E-320 WITH traction control and this may be the problem. Just noticed that the red light in the snow tire switch will not go out. Therefore belive that something is stuck.
The car stopped on the road and can not be restarted. (towed home) Could the ASR cut it off ? ASR has been giving me some problems like going into limp home and the error light comes on.
