Help Please .. No spark, 1992 300CE

All of a sudden, my car will only crank but not ignite / start. There is no spark.

Have checked all fuses, distributor cap, there's a new ignition coil

Any ideas as to what I should check ?

I had the same problem recently, happened twice in a few days.
When the problem occurred, the following was also observed:

1. All warning lights in the instrument panel does not light up when the key switch is turned to on.
2. Radiator fan does not work. (fully electrical, no thermostat)
3. Horn does not work.

In the 1st case I had, the engine wouldn't start.
In the 2nd case, the engine just died while on the move.
In both cases, the same symptoms were there.

Checked all fuses, distributor cap. Ignition coil & control unit were replaced but did not solve the problem. Connector between key switch & fuse box also checked.

At final check, suspected the problem could be caused by a surge inside an old remote alarm module still connected. Due to old age, this surge could have caused the module to short within itself, cutting off power to the ignition control unit & also causing the 3 symptoms above.
After the module was removed, problem was solved.

Check for connectivity from the key switch to the ignition circuit & areas in betweens.

Thanks, BenHur ..

I'll check those areas. I doubt that's the problem, all my warning lights come on, everything's fine there .. spark not forthcoming further down the line, I think

Do you have power to the new ignition coil ?
