Well hello guys, havent made a thread in a while and whatnot but anyways my car is in the shop right now getting the hood painted, and the rims
anyhow when i get it back am in the process of a new BLACK and white interior.. so my question is how much would it run about in price to do front seats, rear seats, head rests, all 4 side panels and the arm rest and visors?.... i am trying to make deal with guy a friend of my dads he says hes cutting me a deal for 1400 so i am wondering if that is a good deal cuz i have no idea how much and what that runs... anywys its gone be a different pattern and i think it should turn out nice with the white in the middle and the sides of the seat black....
THIS IS how its going to look

Albert if you want to do it right, you'll need to re-upholster all of your interior pieces... which includes all of the dash trim panels, your headliner, the pillars, the rear deck, and your carpet.
Your light gray interior probably won't match the black and white scheme very well. Otherwise, you should pick new colors that complement your OEM color scheme better.
But $1,400 actually sounds really cheap to me. Does this guy do quality work? Is it really a re-upholstering job, or is he just gonna sew the new material over the old?

W124's
I was quoted $2,000+ depending on what materials and etc.
$1,400 is cheap and a good deal but make sure the work is good.
Like Pete said - you'll need to do all the interior pieces in order to make look good and flow together.

Here's my amateurish advice.
Don't introduce too many colors. Try to keep your interior to two colors only, max. Ignore the fact that your dash is black because all of our cars are like that.
If you want to have some contrast, keep your blue interior as the dominant color (get a new material that matches as closely as possible), and add maybe dark gray or off-white accents for the tubing around the edges and in the centers of the seats...
If you want to lighten up your interior, redo the headliner in the same gray or off white. But don't go crazy and introduce too many colors because it will look tacky.
Just look at tons of fabric samples together before you make your choice.
Also search the web for the color wheel and complementary and analogous colors.
EDIT: I just did a short search... the complementary colors to navy are: Orange, Gold and Rust. Those would look terrible. "Triad" colors are yellow, red, brown, and tan. Maybe an off-whitish/light tan would look good. Analogous colors are blue, green, and purple. Those would be ugly.
Hope this helps! lol

Enzo, my Benzo
You will QUICKLY enter into Riceland if you do other colors.
Your car is busy enough as it is....blue interior with black accents (inner sections of seats in black, piping in black, door panel inserts in black and then paint all your wood black...the blue will pop and look good.
Pete's research is bang on....in the design world, I'd do a burnt orange with the blue you have but this is the real world of cars.
Black and blue.....worked for BSB...
LOL
I will lol at those that got that joke btw....

Don't get sucked in with the illusion of a cheap price 1,400 is not even enough for quality materials. If you go with cheap materials it's going to end up looking cheap, save up a little for better materials or buy the materials yourself and bring them to him.

Old Skool: Pierre Cardin designed the interior for the '72 AMC Javelin. It had wild multi-coloured striping on the high-back buckets!

do gray or silver inserts on black, like the C43's have... it would match the outside of your car perfectly... it's subtle and classy, but different...

depends.... you ever been to michigan, by any chance...?
okay, my new idea is instead of black and silver/grey, do blue and silver/grey... that would look hot too... tie the inside and outside of your car together
not what you would do, but you can see the colors work together:

there you go!
That's what I was trying to get at. I think silver and gray would look really good with dark blue.
I agree with Cali. $1,400 does not seem like it would get you quality work IMHO.
