No good camshaft: 300CE
Last week, I took the head off my perfectly running car to replace the head gasket and to get a valve job. Today, the machine shop where I brought the head said that my cam is no good and that I need to get a new one. Wow, my great running car needs a new camshaft! I believe that this shop is taking me for a ride, but I told them that I will be getting my own cam and to just put it together. I think that they did a quick switch-a-roo with another cam so Im stuck in paying the bill. Does anyone know of a place in Souther Cal. that regrinds or rebuilds cams? By the way, the name of the shop is MODERN ENGINE in Glendale, Calif.
Please stay away from this shop as it is extremely shady!
If you guys have any leads on a good used cam, or a good shop that rebuilds it, please let me know.

Give MR MB Motors in Tarzana A Call, check out his shop. The owners name is Enrique. He is one of the best mechanics in los angeles, if not the best for mercedes benz. Tell him Alon Sent you.
His work is impeccable, shop is clean, and his knowledge is amazing. His prices are very good too, and he wont tell you your car needs something unless it needs it. you could go in there and tell him something is broken, and he will check and and tell you if it is or isn't. He wont let you do work that is not needed to the car.
HE is worth the drive, I've had people drive to him from orange county, and many other places much further away, just to have him fix their car. He is worth it.
He has over 30 years MB only experience, and was shop foreman at Beverly Hills mercedes, and Auto Steigler before opening his own shop. I give him the highest possible rating, and trust him with my car 100%, because I know he will fix the problem properly, and wont drain my bank account either.
