"code 17 Data exchange malfunction between individual control module.

code 13 02S control system operating to rich for lean limit (replaced 02 Sens and it did nothing also drove it for a week completely unplugged and that had no effect either)."

Man, that sounds like a possible harness issue. Sensors going wack and data fail between modules.

Pulling the O2 connector should have tripped a new code or changed engine behavior. Mine ate the MAF and the crank position sensor at once. The result was strange operating issues like you describe.

Might be worth it to have a shop scope it. They have some trick-tools that zeroed in on my 94.

I've got an Indy shop up the street from me so if it becomes evident that I can't get it figured out I will run up there. I got a couple of things to try first. I will double check but I was pretty sure that i verified teh harness being a replacement.

So I went back to my ohm test of the the coils and remembered that the middle one had a reading of 3.45 when the others were pegged at 2.81 on the nose. I figured that the resistor in the coil was going bad so I went and bought 1 coil and threw it in there. So far it is better but the real test will be on cold engine (which in Chicago it won't be a problem get) I should know more later but this is promising.

Ignition coil fixed it. Smooth and steady idle bunch of top end power and no cutting out.

Yea, you beat the man! Funny how a simple fix makes for 12 hrs. of troubleshooting. Doesn't explain those bazaar codes though. Keep an eye on her.

It's not unusual to get spurious codes. It's good practise to clear the codes, then reread them a few days later to see which ones reappear.

Going to clear them today and go from there. I think the multiple codes came from the throttle accuator being jacked up as well.
