I have bits and pieces of info that suggest it is not as visible or easy to replace at the one on my 202 or 203.....any step by step info and gotchas? This would be the original, 16yo MAF that I am hoping to tackle.

Step one, remove intake tubes.
Step two, remove airbox.
Step three, look down.
Big round thing on top of throttle actuator, screen on top. Last I checked, new ones were pretty expensive. $300 or so.

By all means, try the maf cleaner first, but maf's do wear out, so if the cleaner does not help, then look into a replacement.
You can also connect the maf directly to the SDS system and it will tell you if the voltage is within spec, thats how the dealer determines if the maf needs to be replaced.

it was throwing codes, so it was on its way out. I've used CRC on a 202 before, but all it did was mask the death for about a week
