1993 300CE Sportline?
I'm seriously looking for a '91-92 300CE or 300CE Cabriolet/E320 Cab, I may soon start another post about that mistake...er...journey...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'm in the USA.
I came across an ad for a 1993 300CE Sportline with claimed "Euro" headlights (not the "wipered" headlights), the grill and front and trim seem to be prefacelift (at this for only 10 days and I've got a handle on the w124 jargon!)
I'm wondering is this was a modded or gray market car. I'll run a Carfax when I get its VIN, and that VIN info from that Russian Benz site.
(BTW I drove a '92 300CE Sportline and the handling spoiled me, difficult to consider anything BUT a Sportline model now. Certainly, I'll be considering a suspension peformance upgrade if I buy a non-Sportline CE)
I thought the 300CE coupe production ended in 1992. Were there badged (and all) 1993 300CE coupes authorized for import to the USA?
Cheers!

Thanks, that (and a google search for 94 and 95 coupe examples) inform me of the US import production chrono, the post '92 history is a little confusing.
So, for the w124 coupe and conv, auth. USA import:
91-92: coupe badged 300CE with the 3.0 I6
93: coupe and conv badged 300CE with the 3.2 I6
94-95: coupe conv badged 320E with the 3.2 I6

MBWorld Fanatic!
I agree....a Sportline will spoil you. I installed the factory sportline suspension on my '91 300CE and it was like driving a whole different car.
Good luck in your search.

I have what I think is exactly what you are looking for. My 1992 MB 300CE Sportline is in excellent condition with only 84,000 miles on it. It is black with saddle interior. The seats have been covered with sheepskin covers, so interior is like new. The car was bought new by my family from MB Dealer in '92. (check the VIN: WDBEA51E4NB698312) The car is in New York City. If you think you might be interested, email me at m.rich3@verizon.net

Had to check it out so now it's out of my system, the high mileage (over 190,000) showed...the Sportline suspension and brakes werethe only good things about this very tired car, the weak 3.2 engine didn't serve up the torque in curves and corners to put the Sportline suspension to work, "thunk" noises from the diff area
, rough transmission shifts...paint and interior were in mediocre condition...the standard suspension '92 300CE I test drove yesterday ran circles around this Sportline. A lot of private party seller junk out there, I think many if not most of these sellers just don't have a clue.
It's all good because I'm discovering what's out there, and I know what I want.
