Engine oil warning light

Hi.
Lately my engine oil warning light comes on gradually when RPM is generally abt 3000 ( @ 100kph) and goes off when RPM goes down to abt 2500 RPM (90kph).

what could be the problem?

Thks

I know this sounds elementry but have you checked your oil level. As you increase your rpms the engine is moving more oil and leaves less in the pan so the oil level sensor may light up. Just a thought.

I second GEDaggett's idea.
