i bought mercedes E320 1995 2days ago and the car was driven 350kilometer
i like to know in how many km does the timing chain need to be replace.

hi, how many miles has the car done in total? normally with good oil at correct intervals the timing chain does not have to be replaced, so check the service history! if it's got none as long as you cannot hear the chain rattling then no need to replace just get some good oil in there and all will be well

well i bought the car from an old man which he was the first owner and the motor sound excelent no chain noice.car was serviced by mercedes dealer and there is one problem...on the motor there was oil around so do u think it could be valve gasket?

your welcome, i'm a qualified mechanic here in the uk, i have worked on many cars, if serviced well the cam chain will be fine, thats why merc's and other cars with camchains are easy to service yourself!!! i have an e220 with a genuine amg kit, it takes me 25 minuites to do a full service , oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, and check all other top ups, as far as your oil leek its difficult to say best advice is to wash engine down watching all electrics obiously while its not running dry and clean it off as much as possible, then run engine stationary and see where leak is from, i am new on here but i have had my car for five years, others on here dont reply to newbie'sso i'm trying to help new ones out!
