Windshield Wiper Arm Jamming!

Windshield Wiper Arm Jamming!
My Windshield wiper arm keeps going almost to a complete halt in the very center of my windshield! then slooooowly slides across then back up to speed just in time to park back on the left side of the car 
I have parked it at the extended position then popped the cover off the arm and lubed it. but after a while it is back to slooow again. Is there any particular type of lube I should use on this??

i used that DIY as well and used a bicycle chain lube when i did mine about three mos. ago...worked great and continues to sweep quickly.

Hmm.. it says not to use WD40 because the rain will wash it away. but is that even the case with the W124 because of the cover over the arm it wont wash away right?
IS WD40 Safe to use? i dont think WD40 is a silicon lubricant..
and the guide does not even relate to my wiper system

WD40 will clean it out and lube it temporarily but it will be a short fix and the lube portion of WD40 will attract dirt. I would try wash it thoroughly with WD40 and get the tube in as tight as possible from a new can to get a bit of a pressure wash and then use a spray water proof grease lube.
