How many pistons and how large a rim/offset do you need to clear it?

These don't fit the early w124s because you need to change the LCA... that's why i didn't install mine...

Can anyone confirm if the 300ce was spechul like that like it was for so many other things? I've read that the CE borrowed some suspension parts from the r129 but I honestly couldn't tell what type mine were when I changed the rotors.

Yes, clearance is extremely tight. When cornering you can rub the rotor on the ball joint area of the old style LCAs.

Also if you buy the cheap Ebay new style LCAs, they will also rub...

So get the Lemfoerder or OE ones.
