Opinions wanted on wheels for 95 E320 Cab (picture)
What do you all think of these? 16" Sport Edition Volare from TireRack.com. Wife wants somewhat more modern wheels (her car) -- but still want a luxury ride so looking at 16" instead of 17". These wheels look nicer (to me) than many of the others -- whats your opinion?
Thanks

Nice, but not for me.
I have the original AMG Monoblocks. They have much less open space than the wheels that you have selected. The open space is nice, if you like the appearance of the rotors and calipers. I don’t have cool looking cross-drilled rotors or fancy painted calipers, so I don’t really like all that space. I also recognize that too much metal and the wheels look to blocky like a boat anchor or something. My wheels are blocky, but somehow they still look light and fast and very nice. I love my wheels. I am afraid that selecting wheels really is a matter of personal taste. Good luck.

You might try some of the newer stock M-B wheels. What might look good on your car are the CLK 320 wheels, not the chrome ones but the seven spoke ones on the models from I believe 99-03. I have noticed that the newer M-B stock wheels make to W124 chassis look very new.

optional wheels for coupe
The coupe is the top of each Mercedes body style line. There are very few in the U.S. You are correct about keeping the ride comfotable by going with 16" wheels but you may not have considered one aspect: cleaning the multi-spoked wheels. The AMG mono is the hot wheel for coupes, but they do not come in 16". Look at www.bekker.com and check out the Amg knock- offs which are German TUV rated and are available in 16". They use Mercedes center caps and look appropriate on a Mercedes-and, they are very easy to keep clean. P.

I have the same car. I don't usually like aftermarket wheels, but in my opinion, those look good. Just keep your old ones in case the next owner wants to restore to stock.
