92 500e Factory Amps/CD Changer - Can they be ditched completely?

Searched for the last 2 hours and haven't found the answer.

My 92 500e has a different setup than my 300e. 2 separate amps (why?) and another box on the opposite side of the bracket that looks like it goes to the CD changer. The twin amps look like this:

I can handle wiring up the new stuff, but I want to know if I can completely unplug and ditch the factory crap, or if there are any other random accessories or systems dependent on them.

I'll be taking the car to the track every now and then, and there is a good 7-10 lbs of weight there.

I can get actual pics if necessary, but not until tomorrow.

The factory Becker radio is a two piece design, with the tuner/amp section in the rear of the car, that is the item your looking at, if you remove it, the radio will not funtion. The two amps, each power one of your door speakers.

If your going to replace your sound system with all aftermarket stuff, then of course you can remove it all.

To have radio functionality, you would need to run a antenna wire from your dash to the rear area where the old tuner is and connect the two antenna wires.
