Rear windows not working - 1993 300e

My rear windows are not working, the consul switches font do nothing, and the ones on the doors themselves don't work.....

i hear an electric click sometimes when i hit the consul switch. the sound seems to generate from the rear seat close to the door behind the driver...

any ideas

thanks, my first post here

ya its tucked down a little bit. You"ll have to look under the foam matting but you cant miss it.

Just cause you hear the click of the relay, does not mean anything... check your fuse's under the hood.. a relay is a smaller power source in control of a larger power source which may be using a different power supply.. Think simple first. My rear window's blow the fuse cause they were never used by the previous owner

that could be it also, could you tell me which fuse to look at? i have looked at all of them trying to figure out which ones are for the rear.. no luck. i did replace some of the ones i suspected, but nothing really changed....

I appreciate the feedback .

How is the fact that the previous owners never used the rear windows any explanation as to why they blow the fuse?? you probably have a short somewhere....

Test the relay, I believe it's under the fusebox. Some are the same model so you can swap them.

To test the switch, remove the console panel and swap the other rear switch. If both don't work you can try to jump the connections in the socket.

To test the window motor, take the door panel off and apply 12v power to the terminal block (2 screws where the motor wiring and harness meet)

Sometimes the wiring at the motor gets disconnected or loose, inspect it with a flashlight. It may just need to be soldered.

If not the wiring, the motor may have failed and must be replaced. New replacments are less than $100 and you can find used for about $30 - 50
