First benz :)

Hey guys, first post.. anyways i bought a 1987 300e for 400$.. im 18.. but i've crashed many cars.. (none my fault) and my mom said go pick up a tank or something..
i never liked mercedes because i thought it was just cars that rich people use to boast.. but man the w124, got me loving older mercedes.. it handles..

anyways the speedometer, climate, odometer, and the clock is dead on the cluster, so i ordered a working cluster off of ebay.. is there anyways you can roll the odometer to the correct miles? the odometer was already dead, but the new one has 245,000 on it

also, the handbrake doesn't work at all..what are some basic things i should do? and how much would it cost for a basic tuneup + repairing the handbrake and installing a cluster?

Also this isn't officially my car yet, because my mom said maybe she wants it due to it having not the greatest mpg, since she just uses it for work..
so whats another car similar to the w124 (doesn't have to be a benz)? if my mom does take it i have a 2.5 -3k budget.. should i look for another w124 or should i get a w201 or something?
