Can anybody help with the speakers?
hey guys, new to the forum but I have had some crazy experience with my first MB 124 (95 E 320). I tried upgrading the speakers and bought 6.5 inch speakers and wanted to put them up front but once removed the panels I saw that the speakers were totally different. I have no idea how to install these speakers and for the rear, I don't know what size they are and I'm afraid to be disappointed again like I was for the front. Anybody has any ideas? Thanks.

no speakers that you can buy in a store will fit exactly, if you want that you have to buy OEM replacements. 6.5 will fit with some persuading, you just might have to do some minor cutting of the enclosures in the doors.
also search.

500E Signal Rot
4" in the dash, don't match up exactly but are doable. 5.25" in the doors, but remember, these are for bass only and are fed by a seperate amplifier which does not send the speakers a full range single, crossed over around 80hz and below. Oh, door speakers are also in mono, not stereo
Max depth for the door speaker is 2", assuming you want to use the OE enclosure.
Rear speakers are more or less 5.25" also and it requires some cutting of the sheet metal to get them in. Proper installation of the rear speakers requires removal of the rear seat, rear headrests and rear deck panel. In some situations, you need to drop the gas tank to get enough room to get the rear headrests out. Nice MB design...not! Most people just bust the retaining clips of the rear speaker grills to get them off, saves about 4 hours vs. removing the entire rear deck.
