Charging Problems
I have 2 86 300E's and both of them have problems charging. I have been through the alternator and find no problem, but it seems to go only for a few miles and then runs out of juice. Oh by the way the battery is brand new on both cars as well. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

After the car is started, if you take the leads off of the battery (so it is disconnected) does the car still run? Maybe your voltage regulator is shot? Take voltage measurements off the battery with it running, not running, and running without the battery connected and post back.

ok here is the deal, i started the car and pulled the batt. terminal off, no go car died rright away. took the other regulator out of my other car and same thing. is the car supposed to run off the alternator alone when batt. disconnected?
