there are 3 bilstein shocks you can get for a w124. comfort, heavy duty and sport.

Comfort are soft shocks, softer than oem.

Heavy duty are stiffer shocks, generallyw ithin oem, or a little stiffer.

Sport are similar to HD, only they are shorter, made for cars with lowering springs.

Live and learn

I’ve been trying to figure out if I really messed up getting the HDs with the Eibachs. It seems great and I was reassured that the relatively small drop from the Eibach pro kit didn’t warrant special shocks for the drop and that the HDs were virtually the same valve rate as the sports. Now I wonder if I should have gotten the sports. It feels good, but I can’t help wonder what the sports would be like. Some day, even though the Bilsteins never ware out, I guess I will have to try the sports. Live and learn.
