Where to buy E320 flat hood badge?
Hey everybody, this is my first post here. I just inherited a '94 turquoise E320 that has been running beautifully ever since we got it up and running again.
I bought a replacement grill and a cheapo hood badge from some internet site not knowing what a piece of crap it was. (I should have been able to tell by the 11 dollar price tag.) Yesterday, I tried installing it and noticed that it appeared as if I had to completely remove the hood star from the connecting apparatus and click in the new badge on the mechanism.
In my foolish attempt to remove it, the hood star was destroyed, and the knockoff badge I got from autopartswarehouse didn't even fit on the apparatus. (on the underside it says '201', so I have no idea why they had it in the w124 section.)
So I have come here today to see if any of you guys have any suggestions for legitimate websites where I can get a) the connection apparatus (I also lost the clippy part that locks it into the hood) and b) a hood badge.
Honestly, I don't really care if it is genuine or not, I just want something that doesn't look like it came out of a gumball machine and something to fill up the hole on my hood. I really like the white star style that DWFdude used to make, but I'll pretty much get any badge (white star, amg, black) as long as it looks clean.
Thanks for your time if you read this far.

I'd scan ebay, watch for sellers w high numbers of positive feedback. With that, they are unlikely to risk bad feedback by purely misleading buyers about a $30 item.

I went to a scrapyard, and the guy laughed at me and told me that the emblems are the first thing to go. I then called the dealership and picked this one up for just 15 dollars and I'm really satisfied with it.

I knew people on the forums wouldnt really be into the grill, I mucked up my original one a bit and just got some aftermarket part on ebay, and I kind of like the gaudy 80's star. Everything except for the badge and grill is stock (including fender trim) so whenever I get a new job im going to invest some more $$ to make it all match a little better.
