4 matic ok to drive in test mode

Is it ok to drive with the 4 matic off swith test switch on? Thought might save some gas?

The simple answer is yes. You can actually save your transfer case doing this also. The only problem is that many times when reactivating the system it will set fault codes. You can erase the codes by unplugging the control module for a few seconds though. It will not save much gas though. And on the 1990-1991 models if it is a wagon your self leveling suspension will not work.
But it is a good idea for prolonging the life of the transfer case quite a bit.

First were is this control module and pics pls. It is a 300te wagon 91 If all my reading is right you only need the self leveling system with weight. I drive it by myself most of the time. I wanna run 2 wheel during the simmer and 4 during winter.

I do not have any pictures, but it is under the black plastic cover where the other control modules are behind the battery. It is the one in front. If you pull up on it, it should say what it is on it.
