What not to do to your W124

very disturbing. With this level of damage I would expect to see a major highway as a backdrop, but this looks like a regular street or avenue.
was it hit by a semi-truck or large industrial truck (cement or dump, etc..).
was it excessive speed (very excessive)
Our cars are quite robust, I have seen them come out of major collisions with no where near the damage expected.
I also have a volvo S90 - I know that they are built to allow the best chance of survival in a collision, but I saw, with my own two eyes, an S90 get broadsided by a semitruck and of course it looked worse then the w124 here... you can only be "so safe"

the cutted a and b pillaars and roof isn't a result of the accident itself, it was done to free the passenger(s). especially in cases where the doors couldn't be opened or the passengers are really serious hurt to give a better treatment to them and or free them with less movements of their body (spine fracture etc.).....

Update
Here is a news clipping about the incident. the Benz was not the offending vehicle. He was the first of 7 cars impacted by the below listed assailant.
It is amazing that the people at fault are often unharmed.
Markham man on parole for a 2006 reckless homicide has been charged with slamming into several vehicles Thursday at a Crestwood intersection, killing a Country Club Hills man and injuring several other people.
Bruce Dozier was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence of drugs and driving under the influence of drugs; and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, Crestwood police said.
