1990 300 TE 4 MATIC No Reverse
166000 mil Works in drive and shifts good, but R is like Neutral. The fluid looked good no bits in the bottom. I think a valve in the valve body is stuck. I wood like to know .

No the car has not had an accident. It went in reverse 3 times Sunday only when the trans was cold but slow it tuck 15 to 25 sec to grab but it did not slip strong pull.

That is the famous no reverse situation....
transmission needs some significant work, do a search on it there is plenty of information!
