vacuum supply pump question
Hi,
I have a 1990 300TE 4matic wagon and when I got the car the power locks were not working. I dug out the vacuum pump and tested it, it clicks when you turn the key in the door lock but the motor dosen't turn on. Found a used replacement pump, installed it and the motor turned on, locked the doors then proceeded to crap out and not work again. I read in the Bentley manual that male connector X43 (white plastic) may have been accidentally connected to the female connector M14/1x2 (clear plastic), and this was the case in my car! Would this false connection cause the motor to burn out? Or is there is a short somewhere else? The fuse is didn't pop either. Just wondering before I spend the money and ruin another pump. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
