86' 300E Rims

i am looking to buy rims for my 1986 300E. Should i get 17's or 18's? i am not worried about price i just want what looks best, i also plan on doing h&r sport springs so it will be lowered about 1.5 inches.
-Thanks for the advice

I'd say 17" so you can get some sidewall with the lowering. If you go 18" you are just losing another inch of clearance in the fenderwell.

18's with 215 40 18 tires all around, intrax springs, pretty much as low as a W124 will get.

17's with 215 45 17 tires all around and same springs
