Anybody using a Becker BE1490 Exquisit radio with CD Changer?

This radio came with the car and has the remote 6-CD Alpine/MB changer in the trunk, but is rather the standard radio for the 1994-95 W124. Problem is the CD changer will not retain the last played track of the CD after shutting down the car, that is turn key to position fully anti-clockwise where you can remove it. Upon turning back on the unit it will still remember the CD it was playing but will start from track 1 instead of the last track it was playing. It has been doing this since I have the car.

On the other hand if I turn the unit on, play a CD, and turn it off by pushing the volume knob, wait a minute and turn it back on it will then resume play at the exact spot where it left off.

I determined that the unit "forgets" the last played track as soon as the fron panel red LED (theft deterrent) starts flashing. This of course only happens if I turn the ignition key in the fully anti-clockwise position.

I've checked both the 12V supplies (continuous and switched 12V) and grounding, and they all are correct. It does the memory lapse even without starting the engine, so it's not a matter of electrical interference from the starter motor.

Not sure if this is maybe a normal behavior of this radio. So if you have one of these could you please let me know if yours does the same before I start a possible wild goose chase. Thanks.
