Rapid clicking sound when car is off.

Help! My 95 E320 has started making this rapid clicking noise when the car is off. -In two locations.
It 'feels' like the clicking under the hood is on a silver box with a sticker on it. The sticker has a bar code and 'VDO.' I may be wrong on that but I think the clicking is in that or very very close. Inside the car the same rapid clicking can be heard in the foot well on the passenger side of the car.

I have no idea what is going on but it seems like whatever it is is going to drain the battery. Also the CEL has come on.

It is dark and snowing out at the moment so no pictures.
Okay, once the sun comes up I'm going to re-connect the battery and pull relay on by one to see if I can isolate the issue.

I pulled the relays A and B and the long skinny relay (the others my hands were to large to reach) that are under the second cover behind the main fuse box. It is doing the same thing regardless of those relays being in or not. Any other ideas? Anyone?

actually, i'd say your ovp relay could be screwed. the ovp will turn the cel light on and cause some nutty symptoms.
