E420 Analog Phone

Anyone found a way to hook up a bluetooth or other device to use part of the analog phone system?

For the time being, I have decided to unhook the phone and cradle to free up the space for sunglasses, etc. But, what IS that spring thing beside the phone?

I'm just working from memory here, since I disconnected the phone when analog was discontinued, but I think you are talking about the spring-like wire wrapped around the cord. I think the intended function was to protect the cord and help with orienting the cord when the phone was returned to the cradle. I simply removed that along with the phone.
