1) MAS units like to die
2) Eats oil (quart every 1k or so)
3) Does not like sub-32F temperatures

i don't know about the earlier m104, but the later ones don't consume oil at all. i have never needed to add oil between oil changes, and i even have a leak from timing cover and also i fill closer to min on min-max range on the dipstick. other then the leak from front timing cover i would say m104 is pretty bulletproof engine. even with abuse it will outlast the rest of the car.

I love the engine. It puts up with my regular flogging like a champ, and pulls like nobody's business after about 3.7k RPM.

Yep just got the MAS replaced about two weeks ago. Im referring to a 94' E320. Looks like there's a tiny drip coming from something but I don't know what it is.

It might be the heater?

The car has been maintained by the dealership and they havn't said anything about it so it must not be important. Im going to check it out for myself anyways now that I know what im doing...
