1994 C124 E320 Coupe - 1975 W116 280S
I am in awe

I was just typing the thread regarding suspension questions...and I just calculated how long I've had my car for and how many miles I put on it.

I bought my coupe in March 2007 with only 76k miles on it.

3 years and 59k miles later, it still drives like it was when I first bought it.

I am simply amazed...the front end needs new sway bar bushings, and shocks are due within the next 10-15k.

Other than that, there's not one thing wrong that poses as a threat to keep me from driving any farther than 100 miles.

The only things gone wrong so far were mostly by my error as a beginner driver or just wear. Replaced a radiator, which was a combination of me being in a fender bender and a worn plastic neck on the return line on the radiator, O2 Sensor, and just normal maintenance averaging to about $500-$1500 a year...and the W124 has been nothing less than spectacular.

I'm sure many of you had epiphanies such as mine...and you're more than welcome to share.

Until then, give it up for one of the most amazing cars ever made in modern history

yeah i agree im a huge w126 fan to begin with, my passion was the 560 SEC, i bought my 300E as a daily driver to retire the SEC as a weekender, i must say i've taken a real liking to the w124, compared to the 560 sec it's very nimble i can chuck it around corners with a smile, and on the highway it can hold its own. Reliability wise i've had a few things fixed and it's cost me a fair amount of money but i figure it'll last me another 20 years so money well spent, ive had leaky engine, leaky gearbox, new muffler, fuel sensor, cruise control, antenna fixed. Now looking to update it cosmetically with new grill, wheels and wald bodykit. It's just timeless
