this is a easy swap. the only difference between the regular motor and the 2jz is that the starter is on the drivers side. everything else is in the same place as the regular motor! as for the mounts...the sell them on ebay for $350 shipped to you in 3 day from thailand! comes with all 3 brackets 2 motor and tranny.

Damm, now I want to get a 300ce just for this swap. Maybe you should do a write up so we can have a whole bunch of 2jz mercedes.

funkgab 03-27-2010 03:46 PM

I'd have to say this could be my favorite MB monster project if fit and finish are top notch! Big fan of what your doing:y

Is it safe to say this has been done a few times if MB to 2JZ mounts are made and sold on ebay??

jason3977 03-28-2010 02:02 PM

I'd have to say so... i saw the mount brackets on ebay and began to do my research. i compared the motors and the only diff. is the starter is on the other side. everything lines up the same way (alternator power steering a/c compressor)! i would have been done a long time ago but i was buying high performance parts for the motor so when i start i can keep going. i am going to do the fuel tomorrow and get a measurement for the drive shaft so i can have one made! i have 2 bosch 044 fuel pumps going on with a -10 feed line and -6 return fuel line.
For the car i am going to drop and fleer it out a little bit to match my 17" oz amg 3 piece wheels (old school style) http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...MG_9390JPG.jpg

I'm a big fan of conversions. Seems like a straight forward and practical high hp conversion. Did the bracket supplier have a running car, I didn't see it on their website?

CDP 03-29-2010 03:25 PM

Looking good bro - It's good to know I can see someone do this stateside while I'm out of the W124 game haha

Props man! Keep us updated.
