In my 124, the ventilation system doesn't blow hard unless I press the recirculation button. If it is set so that it gets air from the outside all it does is make a lot of noise with very very little air blowing through the vents.

I assume there is some filter that needs changing? Is it the one under the windscreen wiper? If so, any DIY article where I can figure out how to do it all?
