87 300E Engine Vibration
Thanks much
Love seeing all the W124 people out there
If it is rough while in park/neutral, than it probably is your motor mounts and your hard starts are an unrelated problem. However. if it is sporadic while in drive and stopped than you have the same problem I've been neglecting to take care of. It is most likely an ignition problem. Wires, plugs, dizzy cap, etc. Take a look.
It stops shaking when in neutral or park. it doesnt shake when im driving only in drive and idle. I dont know what you mean by drops so i guess it doesnt do that.

Anyway; same answer as before. Check out ignition components. If all is fine, your injectors may be dirty and clogged. The first time this happened to me that was the problem. However it was more exaggerated, it was rough at first, but then the motor would just die. This happened around 200k miles. If this is the case w/ your car, maybe you can catch it early by running a tank or two of Techron injection cleaner before your next oil change.
Another thing that should not be forgotten is simply the kind of gas you use. I hear 76 is good; also, I know you use it but I just gotta say PREMIUM. You may as well try a tank or two before you go through the trouble of diagnosing it. More of an annoyance than a threat so you can relax.
:o Sorry for rambling
Yeah,... Don't stop at lights.
J/k.... It's your motor mounts. They are dried out, replace them and the vibrating will be gone.
