95 E320 dead battery
I've not driven my E320 cab very much, and recently the car batter died...and it's not holding charge. I tried filling up the water(this is the older MB style w/ the six caps you can re-fill), but it's still not holding charge(more than a day). Is the battery "shot" - or can this still be salvaged? Thx everyone for your input.

A deep cycle battery, as used in a boat or RV IS designed to be completely discharged and then recharged. It WILL go back to 100%, but only has X amount of charges in it.
To whit; if your battery couldn't start your car, you won't get it back to a 100% charge.
Every other week I connect a trickle charger to my SL because I seldom use it. When the charger's indicator light turn on (full Charge) I disconnect the power supply to the charger and close the trunk lid. One time the trunk lid didn't totally closed and left the light on and drained the battery dead. I removed the battery and used a deep cycle charger. But, no matter how long I charge it, it stops at 10amp less than full charge. I don't want to take any risk on an SL, so, I replaced the battery even though it can still start the car.
