Not sure of quality

You can try this site

http://www.tiendalatina.us/

I ordered one, but I didn't get it yet, so I'm not sure of the quality.

You could switch your hood to the 94-95 version and ad an avant garde grille - it's what I'd do if I could afford it (I have a 92 400e).

Check out this thread -

There are pics of W124s with our style of grille that has been modified.

Oh and you could also paint in the grille insert either black or body color.

You could look for hoods at a MBZ salvage yard. There are several - don't know any off hand but search the Mercedessshop forum - you'll find them.

There is also a kit to update the older style hood to the newer style hood. It looks to be of high quality. I also saw this on the Mercedesshop forum as well. Either way, you'd end up having to paint - that is unless you find a match in salvage.

If the old grille is in good condition, and you are going to replace with another one please let me know. I need one.

New website for grilles

The website www.tiendalatina.us for Mercantile Europarts Inc. has changed to http://www.mercedesbenzparts.com/ The site is not exactly the same, but it is similar and they have some of the same pictures posted. My new grille was damaged so I am sending it back. It looked like it was dropped so that one side was a bit crushed. In addition, the little plastic mounts that hold the chrome look very fragile and one was snapped off and dangling from the grille. I am going to stay with OEM. Maybe I will try painting it black some day. Good luck with your grilles
